A Message from the Simulation Co-Directors

Welcome to the University of Kentucky, Department of Anesthesiology simulation website. Simulation based training is becoming mandatory for all practicing anesthesiologists. It is the nature of our practice that we become state of the art practitioners in all clinical disciplines. The goal of our simulation department is to provide new and innovative clinical case scenarios that will test our practice of anesthesia. Within our training program, our residents and learners are exposed to a wide variety of complicated anesthesia scenarios with the use of state of the art high fidelity simulators. We also incorporate the use of individualized task simulators such as the HeartWorks TEE simulator and ultrasound guided central line and regional blockade simulators.

Our simulation faculty are involved in research projects related to simulation as well as the development of new and innovative case scenarios to provide the best simulation training experience available. Thank you for visiting our site and taking the time to learn more about our anesthesiology simulation program at the University of Kentucky.
