Critical Care Medicine Clinical Experience PDF Print E-mail

The University of Kentucky Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is a one year educational experience. Fellows will spend the majority of their time in the anesthesiology based settings (Neurosurgical Critical Care and Cardiothoracic Surgery Critical Care) and complete rotations in Medical Critical Care, Cardiac Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care and Trauma Critical Care. In addition, the fellow will select from a variety of electives which include Nephrology, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Echocardiography, Hepatology, Nutrition Critical Care, Pulmonary Medicine, Infectious Disease, Transfusion Medicine and Critical Care Research. The overarching goal of the fellowship is to train individuals to become an intensivist capable of caring for all types of critically-ill patients. In all clinical experiences, there are faculty members qualified to provide adequate supervision of the fellow at all times.
